Trainer, Maureen McLatchy, started her dog life with her first Gordon Setter,Tess, in 1986. She began showing in conformation, obedience, and hunt tests. The Pinebirch Gordons did well in all three venues and have earned multiple High in Trials and Specialty wins on the way to their titles. As a trainer, she has put over 50 AKC obedience titles on numerous dogs, whose breeds include Gordon Setters, Irish Setters, English Cocker Spaniels and Pointers. In 1999 she attended her first agility class and became hooked on the sport. The dogs and handlers were having such fun, it was contagious. In 2000 she competed in her first agility trial with Raven who became the #1 Gordon in the country for all three levels of titles. To date, her four dogs have earned 28 AKC agility titles with over 100 placements, and in 2004, her young dog Molly qualified for the AKC Nationals. Currently, she shares her life with four Gordons from 1 to 11 years of age, all descendants of Tess.
